Mission Statement

The emergency management focus of this country tends toward response and recovery during and after a disaster.  Rather than perpetuating this disaster denial approach, Disaster Ready People remains focused on establishing nation-wide readiness before disaster strikes.  With this in mind, the mission of Disaster Ready People, a non-profit, grassroots organization, is to create a national culture of readiness that effectively integrates all sectors of society in disaster preparedness.  This is accomplished by building strong and ready individuals, families, businesses, communities and systems committed to awareness, education, advocacy, and effective public policy.
